Heat recovery through RTO equipment
One of YGM’s initiatives to reduce its environmental impact involves the use of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) equipment to recover heat energy. The RTO device, consisting of three or more heat exchangers, a combustion chamber, and six or more main airflow switching valves, operates by oxidizing organic waste gases (VOC) into carbon dioxide and water, while recovering and recycling the released heat energy. With an impressive 99% purification rate, YGM’s RTO equipment reduces VOC emissions by approximately 12,600 kilograms per year and saves up to 1.2 million kilowatt-hours of energy.
Material savings and efficiency through automated processing
In addition to RTO, YGM is also promoting automated processing, such as automatic gluing, automatic microbead loading, and automatic material handling, to increase material utilization and improve overall work efficiency while reducing labor costs.
SBTI Science-Based Carbon
SBTi (Science Based Targeting Initiative) is a global initiative jointly sponsored by the Center for Global Environmental Information (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It advocates companies to take more proactive actions and solutions to reduce emissions and work together to combat global climate change.
In order to efficiently realize the goal of carbon emission, YGM also starts from the following aspects:
- Heat recovery through RTO
- Adopting photovoltaic power generation technology
- Replacing fuel forklifts with electric vehicles
- Optimizing the layout of the plant to reduce handling energy consumption.
- Increase the amount of glue Guhua, reduce viscosity, so that the coating becomes thinner, saving energy consumption
- Each department establishes a system of electricity consumption, and stipulates that the air-conditioner should be turned on at a temperature of ≥26 ℃ in summer and ≤20 ℃ in winter.
- Dormitory water is heated by the heat generated by the air compressor.
Use of 100% solvent-free adhesive (PUR)
PUR is fully known as Polyurethane Reactive, which has become one of the important materials in the adhesive industry in recent years
- 100% solid content
- Zero VOC emissions, no fire hazards, environmental protection, five-toxic, green
- Moisture curing, no drying process, fast energy saving
- Excellent initial strength, but also has a crosslinking curing function, the final bonding strength is higher
- Excellent heat resistance, water resistance, chemical resistance and durability.
- One-component type, easy to industrial automation, mechanized operation, high production efficiency.
Water-based PU instead of oil-based PU
YGM is committed to using 100% solvent-free polyurethane reactive (PUR) adhesive, which is environmentally friendly, with no volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, and an excellent initial and final bonding strength. In addition,Water-based PU is replacing oil-based PU in production transfer processes.
Moreover, water-based polyurethane will not have any effect on the final product performance, customers do not have to worry about the replacement of the two will affect the quality of our products.
Photovoltaic Power Generation
Photovoltaic (PV) power generation is a technology that utilizes the photovoltaic effect at the semiconductor interface to directly convert light energy into electrical energy. Compared with the commonly used thermal power generation system, it has the advantages of safety and reliability, no noise, no pollution emission, no need to consume fuel and erect transmission lines, and high power quality.
YGM has been in photovoltaic power generation mode since 2022, with 6,000-7,000 square meters of solar panels on the roof of the plant supplying up to 300,000 kWh of electricity per month, realizing a 30% green power substitution (YGM’s average monthly electricity consumption is 900,000 kWh).
In addition to this, YGM also has Green Power Certificates (GPC), which are electronic certificates with a unique code identifier for each megawatt-hour of renewable energy feed-in power, as the only evidence of green environmental benefits.
Recycling Post-consumer Yarn Fabric Products (GRS Certified)
In addition to building energy-efficient equipment in its factories, YGM also places great importance on the recyclability of its product materials and has been certified by GRS, the Global Recycling Standard, which is a voluntary product standard for tracking and verifying the amount of recycled materials in final products. The standard applies to the entire supply chain and covers traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical composition and labeling. Through GRS certification, customers can visualize that YGM is true to its materials and supports the circular economy, reducing waste by using it to make new products.
