YGM Confronts 2025 PFAS Regulation with Tech and Full-Chain Improvements

As a 20-year leader in the reflective material field, YGM has certifications such as ISO and OEKO-Tex 100, which allows it to serve and deliver the necessary reflective tapes and safety apparel to over 50 countries. The global rollout of the 2025 PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) regulations requires not only steps for compliance, but also introduces possibilities for enhancing green competitiveness.

YGM confronts PFAS Regulation 4

The EU’s EN 17681-1:2025, effective October 31, 2025, uses alkaline hydrolysis to enhance PFAS detection, mandating “total organic fluorine ≤ 50 ppm” for reflective fabrics and safety clothing. The U.S., Japan and others have also tightened controls, impacting YGM’s exports. To tackle this, YGM’s R&D, production, QC and sales teams analyze regulatory differences, align existing standards with PFAS limits, and update compliance documents.

YGM confronts PFAS Regulation 1

Tech innovation drives YGM’s response. With 3 R&D departments, over 130 core patents related to technology, processes and design, and large-scale use of eco-friendly materials like ecological glue, it gains experience for fluorine-free reflective material R&D.

YGM confronts PFAS Regulation 2

Full-chain management ensures compliance: upstream, YGM enforces a “fluorine-free raw material list,” assesses suppliers (dyes, adhesives, water repellents) and requires PFAS test reports, blacklisting non-compliant ones; it also checks for cross-contamination risks. Downstream, 42 production lines and 8 workshops optimize processes for compliant output.

YGM confronts PFAS Regulation 3

As an enterprise certified under the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, YGM has always placed “PEOPLE & PLANET” in a prominent position. This PFAS upgrade aligns with its green vision. YGM will always put customer safety at the core, take production compliance as the foundation, and embrace product innovation as the driving force. By advancing technology and upgrading our entire value chain, we are not only well-positioned to navigate the transition under the new PFAS regulations but also to lead the industry in developing eco-friendly reflective materials—continuously delivering safer, more compliant, and more sustainable solutions to customers worldwide.
