Recycling Post-consumer Yarn Fabric Products (GRS Certified)
YGM fabrics have successfully obtained the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification issued by Control Union and can be recycled and reused after consumption. GRS is an international, voluntary and comprehensive product standard that sets out third-party verification requirements for recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce or eliminate the hazards they cause in production.
As an advocate and practitioner of sustainable development, YGM insists on using environmentally friendly and consumer-friendly materials in the product development and manufacturing process.
Built RTO for Thermal Energy Recovery
Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer is referred to as RTO, which consists of three or more regenerators, one combustion chamber, and six or more main airflow switching valves. Its working principle is: After the organic waste gas (VOC) absorbs heat and heats up in the regenerator, it enters the combustion chamber for high-temperature incineration (maintaining a temperature of 800°C and a certain residence time), oxidizing organic matter into carbon dioxide and water, and then passing through another storage chamber. The hot chamber stores heat and discharges it. The stored heat is used to preheat the newly incoming organic waste gas, and the furnace temperature is kept stable by periodically changing the direction of the airflow.
RTO can treat almost all exhaust gases containing organic compounds and has a high purification efficiency of up to 99%, which reduces the emission of YGM volatile organic compounds (VOC) by about 12,600 kg/year, and saves about 1.2 million KW/year of plant energy consumption.
SBTi Scientific Carbon Emission
SBTi (Science-Based Targets Initiative) is a global initiative jointly launched by the Center for Global Environmental Information (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It is promoting enterprises to adopt more active emission reduction actions and solutions to jointly tackle global climate change.
In response to the carbon emission target, YGM has taken the following measures from various aspects:
- Thermal energy recovery via RTO
- Using photovoltaic power generation technology
- The factory’s fuel forklifts are replaced by electric vehicles
- Optimization of factory site layout to reduce energy consumption in handling
- The curing amount of the glue is increased and the viscosity is reduced, thereby reducing the coating thickness and saving energy consumption
- Establish a management system that stipulates the opening temperature of the air conditioner (summer≥26 ℃, winter≤20 ℃)
- The water in the dormitory is heated by the heat generated by the air compressor
Water-based PU Instead of Oil-based PU
Compared with oil-based PU, water-based PU is more environmentally friendly, there is no solvent emission, and the green concept of the finished product is obvious, but some physical properties are slightly worse than oil-based PU at the current technical level.
Oil-based PU is lacking in environmental performance due to the discharge and treatment of organic solvents. However, from the current technological level, the overall performance of the product has obvious advantages over water-based PU.
It is worth mentioning that the replacement of oil-based PU with water-based PU is mainly aimed at the transfer process in production, and has no effect on the performance of the final product, so customers do not have to worry about the quality of our products.
Green Electricity - Photovoltaic Power Generation
Photovoltaic power generation is a technology that directly converts light energy into electrical energy by using the photovoltaic effect at the semiconductor interface. Compared with the commonly used thermal power generation system, it has the advantages of safety and reliability, no noise, no pollution emission, no need to consume fuel and erect transmission lines, and high energy quality.
YGM has installed about 6,000-7,000 square meters of solar panels on the roof of the factory, and has started photovoltaic power generation in June 2022, with a monthly power supply of 300,000 kwh, realizing 30% green electricity replacement (YGM’s average monthly electricity consumption is 900,000 kwh) .
Improvement of Product Life
How to improve
For the service life of the product, YGM will improve the product in many aspects, including the improvement of raw materials, the reset of the process route, the redesign of the product structure and so on.
Product service life detection method
Generally, the service life of the product is measured by evaluating the product performance after washing performance and wear, bending, folding, high and low temperature and other destructive tests.
Precautions when using the product
High reflective series: Pay attention to oil stains, scratches, low temperature, acid and alkali solvents.
High luster’s series: Pay attention to oil stains, scratches, low temperature, acid-base solvents, sweat stains.
High luster’s reflective heat transfer vinyl: Pay attention to oil stains, scratches, low temperature, sweat stains, the influence of acid and alkali solvents and hot pressing parameters.
Reflective sheeting: Pay attention to the weather resistance requirements, the process and level of pasting, and the temperature during the stamping process.
